We compare offers from numerous car rental companies and tour operators worldwide. These include well-known direct rental companies such as Europcar, Avis or Alamo and renowned rental car brokers such as Sunny Cars, DERtour or Drive FTI. First enter your travel data in the search mask. If you are planning a one-way rental, you can enter a different return location now. After clicking on “Find a rental car”, all suitable offers will be displayed.
2. Compare
You can now sort the offers according to popular offers, ratings or price – depending on what is particularly important to you. In addition, there are numerous filter options available, which you can use to adapt the offers to your individual needs. Select the insurance you want, the appropriate vehicle class or extras such as a navigation system or a diesel vehicle. The price of the filtered offers then always includes all the insurances and extras you have chosen – there are no hidden costs.

Have you found a suitable offer? Then the booking is done in a few steps. Simply enter the driver’s details and complete the booking. Your data will be securely transmitted to our partner. Your payment is encrypted and transmitted directly to the booked provider in a protected manner. As soon as you have completed the booking, you will receive a booking confirmation by email.
Which rental cars can I rent?
Whether you are looking for an SUV or a minibus, you are guaranteed to find the right rental car for your needs. After you have entered your booking details, you can use the search results page to filter according to vehicle classes and types. You will only be shown suitable offers.
In Germany and popular European destinations such as Spain and Italy, mainly small cars were rented in 2018. In Germany, 39.8% of all bookings were made in this vehicle class, in Spain it was as much as 59.9%. The front runner is Greece, where 69.5% of all customers opted for a small car when renting a car. Small cars are often not only the cheapest, but also the most flexible choice for short distances and narrow roads. The situation is different in the USA and Australia, for example, where most rental car vacationers opt for larger cars. In the USA, 37.5% of all customers booked a mid-range car in 2018, while the compact class recorded the most bookings in Australia with 30.5%.

You can book cars in more than 170 different countries. Most car rental companies are located in heavily frequented regions. There are many ways to rent a cheap car, especially at airports, train stations and in the inner cities of popular destinations. You can also pick up a rental car at some ports. What insurance do I need for my rental car?
Every offer that you book through us already includes the compulsory fully comprehensive insurance and the necessary liability insurance for your rental car. The specific services of the respective insurance companies vary from offer to offer. It is therefore worth checking the conditions and, if necessary, choosing additional insurance. Whether you choose additional insurance is of course entirely up to you and is by no means mandatory. Regardless of the travel destination and the chosen provider, we generally recommend fully comprehensive insurance with reimbursement of the excess, liability insurance with coverage of at least one million euros, and glass and tire protection, as this is not included in the regular fully comprehensive insurance.
How can I book particularly cheap rental cars?
To make your next rental car cheaper, we have put together a few tips that, in our experience, have proven to be particularly effective.
- Book your rental car online in advance. This is usually much cheaper than booking it with the landlord on site.
- Book your rental car as early as possible (preferably at least three months in advance). Then the availability is still high and the prices are cheap. This is especially true for the main season and during the holiday periods.
- Benefit from reliable low-cost providers such as Budget or Firefly, who score with a very good price-performance ratio.
- Save on comfort, but not on insurance. Because then it can be expensive in the event of damage.
- As a rule, it is cheaper to book a complete offer including all additional options (e.g. additional driver or navigation device) than to book extras individually later
What do I have to consider when picking up the rental car?
Those who are well prepared for the way to the rental car counter make a decisive contribution to ensuring that the pick-up is quick and uncomplicated. Be sure to come to the station on time or inform the landlord on site if you are late. Also have all relevant documents ready. These include:
- the rental car voucher
- a full credit card in the name of the main driver (including PIN)
- the driving license of the main driver (and any additional drivers)
- Your passport or identity card
- In some countries you may also need an international driver’s license and / or a return ticket
Check the rental agreement before you sign it and check the condition of your rental car. All previous damage must be noted in the rental agreement. Also check the tank level. Because the fair tank regulation says that you have to return the rental car with the same level. Checking these things at the car rental company on site only takes a few minutes, which can save you a lot of trouble later.
What do I have to consider when returning the rental car?

- Return the rental car properly to avoid additional cleaning costs.
- Return the rental car on time. Otherwise the landlord can charge you an additional day.
- Fill up the tank and keep the fuel receipt.
- Have the return confirmed in writing.
Can I rent a rental car without a credit card?
In fact, most car rental companies only accept credit cards for deposit. This means: Even if you can choose a different payment method when booking, you will need a full credit card at the counter at the latest. However, there are also rental cars that you can rent without a deposit or credit card. How old do i have to be to rent a car?
The minimum age for renting a rental car varies depending on the country and provider. As a rule, however, you have to have had your driving license for at least one year. There is also often a young driver fee. Therefore, always check the rental conditions in advance. Most car rental companies offer rental cars from the age of 21, some rental companies rent their cars to drivers from the age of 19. Just as there is a minimum age, some countries or landlords also set a maximum age. There are some providers who require drivers over the age of 70 to pay additional fees or to provide evidence that they are fit to drive.
Cross-border journeys and one-way rentals: travel particularly flexibly!
Many rental companies allow travelers to travel to other countries by rental car. This is particularly common in Europe or between Canada and the United States. However, these border trips must always be registered in advance and they are often associated with additional costs. The rental conditions tell you which countries you can drive to with the selected rental car.
It is similar with one-way rentals. These are often free of charge on popular routes such as Las Vegas to Los Angeles or from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, but usually also come with additional fees. If you specify the different return location when booking, you will only be shown available offers including all costs.
