Short trip to the city that never sleeps!

New York – also called New York City or the Big Apple to distinguish it from New York State – is the center of the New York metropolitan area.

About 8.4 million people live in New York City, making the city the most populous in the United States. With 2.6 million residents, Brooklyn is the most populated of the five boroughs, followed by Queens with 2.3 million, Manhattan with 1.6 million, Bronx with 1.4 million and Staten Island with 0.5 million. The primary gateway for legal immigration into the United States and one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. A global power city, New York has had a significant impact on commerce, finance, media, arts, fashion, research, technology, education and entertainment. New York is a major center for international diplomacy and is considered the cultural and financial capital of the world.

Due to its unique flair, New York is always an impressive experience – whether summer or winter. Many use a last-minute package deal with flight + hotel to shop cheaply (e.g. at Macy’s) or to experience one of the many sights of the metropolis. For beginners, we recommend a short trip of around 5 to 8 days with a hotel in Manhattan. From there you can quickly and easily reach the most famous highlights of this exciting city – either on foot or with a cheap Hop On – Hop Off bus ticket.
